Natura sponsored and participated in the National Innovation Congress of Industry, held on September 27 and 28 in São Paulo, under the theme "Ecoinnovation: Towards Competitive and Sustainable Entrepreneurship." This active participation and our sponsorship of the event reinforce our ongoing commitment to innovation and our contribution to the advancement of knowledge in society.
Natura previewed two innovations it is developing and presented two prototypes of different cosmetic experiences at its booth. The first is a refill machine, which aims to reduce the environmental impact generated by cosmetic product packaging and provide a differentiated experience for consumers in the future. Participants were able to see how this process will work through a demonstration with the liquid soaps made from Brazil nuts from the Natura Ekos line. The second prototype is a tone customization machine for foundations from the Natura Una line, which diagnoses to find the ideal foundation for the consumer's skin tone and ensures in-store production of this personalized and customized foundation.
Roseli Mello, Global Head of R&D, participated in the panel "Bioeconomy and Brazil's Assets to Promote Ecoinnovation," enriching the debate with her expertise. For Roseli, the development of bioeconomy in Brazil stems from the various opportunities the country offers, such as the potential to generate carbon credits, the rich biodiversity present in multiple biomes, vast forest areas, and the traditional knowledge of communities and native peoples. It is essential for Brazil to adopt a comprehensive approach, going beyond purely economic and industrial aspects.
We also had the honor of hosting a European and Latin American mission through Enrich in Lac during a visit to Natura's innovation center in Cajamar. Enrich in Lac seeks to establish connections between research, development, and innovation initiatives in both Latin America and the Caribbean with Europe, facilitating cooperation and knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
