Study Shows the Impact of Red Lipstick on Self-Esteem

A scientific research conducted by Natura's innovation team showed that red lipstick boosts women's self-esteem. In the study carried out in São Paulo, with 31 women aged 25 to 41 and heterogeneous skin tones, it was found that red lipstick can enhance the perception of beauty, femininity, joy, and women's self-esteem.

To reach the results of the research, the emotions of the volunteers were evaluated in three stages: in the first, they were without any makeup; in the second, they wore only foundation to even out their facial skin; lastly, in addition to the foundation, they wore the matte lipstick SPF 10 Meu Vermelho from the Natura Aquarela line.

Between each of these phases, the women participating in the research were able to observe themselves in the mirror and perform a self-assessment by answering a standard questionnaire. A friend of each of them was also present in the study to contribute to the evaluation and perception from the other's perspective.
