InovAtiva Brasil won the award for Best Accelerator in the country at the Startups Awards 2016, the main award in Brazil's digital entrepreneurship ecosystem. The ACE and Darwin Starter accelerators were the other finalists in the category. The award is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Startups, ABStartups.
The announcement took place during the Annual Conference on Startups and Entrepreneurship, CASE 2016, held in early November. The result was achieved through public voting, in two stages: public nomination and final voting on the three most nominated in each of the 12 categories. InovAtiva is conducted by the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services and by Sebrae, with execution by the CERTI Foundation. Since 2013, the program has offered online training, high-level mentoring, and market connection for startups from any sector and from all over the country, at no cost to participants. The second acceleration cycle of InovAtiva in 2016 will conclude on December 5 with the InovAtiva Demoday, held during the National Conference of Angels of Brazil.
