The second day of the Ekos Hackathon: Hands in the Forest was an immersion in the forest and the routine of those who live in the Amazon. Our 32 participants hit the road and got to know the Moju Community.
Located near a river, the local population's predominant economic activity is the extraction of açaí and andiroba. During the visit, the members of our innovation marathon were welcomed by members of the local residents' association and were able to better understand the partnership promoted by Natura with the communities.
The guests had the chance to see the space where the ingredients for Ekos products are cultivated, followed the açaí harvest, and learned the details of how the benefit-sharing works between the company and the local population.
The program included a swim in the Moju river, a typical lunch, and even a closing dance. The participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences with residents and understand the needs that the community has related to the Hackathon challenge.
All the information will serve to inspire our participants in prototyping projects that aim to connect the Amazon and nature to people's daily lives.
At the end of the day, the groups were finally formed, and the teams are excited to roll up their sleeves and prototype innovative projects and ideas.
