Brazil Seeks Votes to Become a Finalist in Global Innovation Contest

The Innovators Race, a global competition by Capgemini focused on innovation, has reached its second stage with six countries in the running: Brazil, the United States, France, the Netherlands, India, and the United Kingdom. Brazil is represented by students from the University of São Paulo (USP), Augusto de Paula Júlio and Rodrigo Spillere, who developed an innovative plan to help Natura assist its consultants in increasing their revenue through technology. For the Brazilians to reach the final, among the two finalists, they need to obtain the highest number of online votes possible, demonstrating the country's strength when it comes to innovation. The two teams with the most votes will compete in the grand final in France, and the winner will receive a prize of $25,000 and an internship at Capgemini San Francisco (USA).

The public will be able to vote for their favorite duo on the competition portal - http://www.innovatorsrace.com/ - between March 14 and 21.

Brazil among the best teams in the world

The solution that the students proposed for Natura aims to facilitate the daily lives of the brand's sales consultants, who currently number 2 million across Brazil and have an entrepreneurial profile. Sustainability was one of the focuses considered by the duo, who addressed three components in the project development process: social, economic, and environmental. Thus, a mobile application was created that can contribute to the sales performance of consultants, as well as bring benefits to the environment.

The technological platform can provide various business insights, such as the most sought-after products by customers in certain regions, using data from social networks and geolocation. Additionally, it has a financial education manager, a learning center, inventory control, a digital catalog, among other features that transform each seller into a “mini store” of Natura.

Innovators Race - In search of the most innovative minds

Created to promote innovation among students, identifying talents and putting technology in favor of society, the Innovators Race utilizes the power of creative thinking and the reach of social media to solve real business challenges faced by global brands today.

To support the initiative, Capgemini is participating in an original content production on CNN International, called “2020 Visionaries.” The documentary series will feature inspiring messages about the future world, with technological visionaries interacting with the finalist students of the global competition.

In 2015, the Capgemini Group made 37,000 new hires, 41% of whom were recent university graduates.
