The Ekos Hackathon: Hands in the Forest has launched a challenge for all of Brazil. We want to find solutions that connect the Amazon and Nature to people's daily lives. To assist our 32 selected participants in this quest, we have reserved a space that is closely related to Ekos, in Belém do Pará, and prepared a program that favors open and collaborative innovation.

The hotel is located next to the Mangal das Garças Natural Park, a space that preserves, in the middle of the city, a sample of all the Amazonian richness.
Our Host
With great humor, Murilo Gun will lead the activities of the Ekos Hackathon: Hands in the Forest. Comedian, entrepreneur, and speaker, Murilo is one of the pioneers of the Internet in Brazil. In 2014, he was selected among 80 entrepreneurs from around the world to live for 10 weeks at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, studying disruptive innovations at Singularity.
What Happens Each Day

_Opening of the event with immersion in Natura Innovation and the Natura EKOS brand - participants will interact with company leaders to learn more about Natura.

_Immersion in the Amazon, with a visit to the Jauari community.
Located in the lower Moju River region, the residents' association was founded in 2004 and, since 2007, has maintained a partnership with Natura for the supply of andiroba and murumuru oil. Open to new projects, Jauari created its own computer center to serve the community.
_Formation of groups
03/18 and 03/19
_Prototyping: Participants will have access to a space equipped with different tools to bring their ideas to life, from traditional tools to electronic circuits and digital fabrication machines, such as 3D printers and laser cutters. In addition, they will have the participation of local supplier communities, consumers, and Natura Consultants in validating the ideas.

Awards
The authors of the winning prototypes will receive as a prize 01 Ultimaker 2Go 3D printer and 01 kit with 10 plastic filaments for each group member. The winning group will also have the opportunity to visit Natura's headquarters in Cajamar and present their project to Innovation leaders and a network of invited partners.
