The Sinapse da Inovação Amazonas program was officially launched in Manaus. About 200 people attended the event at the Vânia Pimentel Auditorium of the Nilton Lins University.

Gerson Valença Pinto, Vice President of Innovation at Natura and President of ANPEI, spoke to the audience about Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and the case of the company Natura.

Following this, Prof. Antônio Rogério de Souza from the CERTI Foundation presented the Sinapse da Inovação Program to those present. The event also introduced the Sinapse da Inovação Agents, representatives of partner institutions that will help promote the program and guide those interested in submitting ideas.

In the opinion of the technical-scientific director of Fapeam, Andreia Waichman, the initiative will stimulate the culture of innovation in Amazonas. “In a pioneering way, we bring a new methodology through the partnership with the CERTI Foundation, so we can boost innovative ideas and businesses. The academic community, young entrepreneurs, and researchers are invited to apply for the call,” she said.

Initially, interested parties must submit their ideas through this website by June 11. To be selected, they need to go through three phases, during which they receive training and must present, in addition to the proposal for an innovative idea, a business project and a funding project. In the end, 40 projects will be selected, receiving R$ 50,000 in economic subsidy from FAPEAM and training for six months to develop their innovative company or product.

The entire process will be conducted by a technical team from the CERTI Foundation, in coordination with the evaluators and official partners of the program, about twenty institutions that promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
