The FINEP Award is the most important instrument for encouraging and recognizing innovation in the country. The award was created to acknowledge and publicize innovative efforts made by companies, non-profit institutions, and individuals, developed in Brazil and already integrated into the domestic or foreign market, in order to make the country competitive and fully developed through innovation.
In 2013, the award received a total of 570 candidates across nine categories - Micro and Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Science and Technology Institution, Social Technology, Innovative Inventor, Assistive Technology, Sustainable Innovation, and Innovate Funds.
The Large Business category included Brazilian private companies with gross revenue in 2012 exceeding R$90 million, represented by the set of their innovative actions implemented for at least 3 years.
The proposals were evaluated by committees of judges composed of specialists, representatives from innovative institutions, the business sector, and FINEP.
The award was presented today in a ceremony at the Palácio do Planalto by President Dilma Rousseff. In addition to a trophy, Natura received R$ 500,000 in cash.
Receiving this award is a great recognition of all our dedication to promoting Innovation both at Natura and in our network of relationships.
