The mind that opens to a new idea will never return to its original size!
Albert Einstein was very fortunate when he made this statement.
Since 2011, Natura has welcomed students from the Graduate Program in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture at IAC for a visit to the production areas and subsequently a discussion about research in the private sector.
Annually, students in the Horticulture course are introduced to the research program in Bioagriculture, which has the mission to “Promote economic botany, prioritizing the resources of socio-biodiversity, develop production technology and innovation in productive chains focusing on ecological agriculture and non-timber forest management.”
It is at this moment that the opportunity arises to discuss the differences and complementarities of research within the public and private sectors, allowing all present, researchers and students, to broaden their understanding of what constitutes innovative and impactful research in the private sector, as well as maturing regarding new ideas and opportunities.
The exchange of experiences between research institutions is essential to promote the construction of knowledge networks that integrate research actions, technical assistance, and training, generating applied science in the field.
May our minds always be open to new ideas!
