Registration is open for the Business and Innovation Network 2013 (BIN@Brazil), which will take place from November 12 to 14 this year in Ribeirão Preto - SP.
In its fourth edition, BIN@Brazil - Business & Innovation Network is an international meeting of Business and Innovation, featuring academic and business partners engaged in creating a sustainable forum for the exchange of best practices and innovation opportunities.
The event is free and aims to develop a sustainable international innovation network involving partners from industry, academia, science and technology parks, incubators, investors, consultants, and economic development agencies, among others, in sharing knowledge and best practices, within an open innovation framework. It is an interdisciplinary discussion forum that integrates various technological sectors to create opportunities for collaboration and cooperation. The main focus areas of the event will be medical, hospital, and dental equipment; renewable materials and energies; pharmaceuticals and biotechnology; and information and communication technologies.
The initiative is organized by the University of São Paulo and the Fundação Instituto Pólo Avançado de Saúde (FIPASE), with support from the University of Porto (Portugal) and the University of Sheffield (England).
BIN@2013 will feature speakers from countries such as the USA, England, Chile, Spain, Portugal, and Slovenia, as well as a mini-course on innovation. Researchers and companies will also be able to submit posters for display during the event.
Main highlights of the event:
- Over 20 international speakers from countries such as: Chile, England, USA, China, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Slovenia, Italy, and Germany;
- Simultaneous translation service;
- Notable presence of institutions from abroad and all over Brazil;

The event will be held in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo state, a city with significant impact on the academic-scientific production of the country through the University of São Paulo campus and a strong economy in the sectors of medical, hospital, and dental equipment; pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and biotechnology; and information and communication technology.
It is expected that between 250 and 300 people will attend. Entrepreneurs, representatives of investment funds, researchers, professors, students, and public managers working with technological development and entrepreneurship can register for the event. Since registration is free and spots are limited, interested individuals must justify their interest in the event at the time of registration, so that their participation can be evaluated by the organizing committee.
Registrations will be made through the event website by selecting the sessions they wish to attend and justifying their interest in the event. The justification will be evaluated by the BIN@Brazil organizing committee. Confirmation will be sent via email, detailing the rooms for which the participant is registered.
