We launched the Natura Campus Challenge - New insoluble ingredient in water and oil

This challenge aims to map new plant-based ingredients with low environmental impact that are insoluble in oil and water for the separation of these phases. This ingredient will be used as one of the phases in Natura's three-phase oils, fulfilling the functionalities of hexylene glycol.

Natura's three-phase oils are developed with ingredients of different densities to form the three phases with vibrant colors, a light texture, providing an explosion of fragrance at the moment of application. Currently, hexylene glycol is used in the intermediate phase of the three-phase oil.

In this context, in search of a higher degree of plant-based ingredients and reduction of environmental impact, we are looking for an ingredient to replace hexylene glycol.

To submit the project, the researcher must access the Natura Campus Portal, available at the website www.naturacampus.com.br. Ready or developing technologies will be accepted, as well as research project proposals, and there is no limit to the number of project proposals that can be submitted by each proponent.

The benefits and maturity of the technology, the time required for technology availability, potential for application, plant-based content, process of obtaining, and environmental impact will be evaluated.

The winners of the Challenge will have the opportunity to participate in a Vivência de Ekos for immersion in the process of using Natura's sociobiodiversity, including:

- Visit to a Producer Community – Pará

- Visit to the processing factory – Pará

- Visit to Natura's headquarters in Cajamar/SP for an in-depth understanding of the innovation process, laboratory visits, and interaction with executives.

Additionally, if the winner proposed a development project, there is also the possibility of investment in the project, involving or not a partnership.

For raw material proposals, Natura will evaluate the feasibility of supplying the new ingredient.
