In August 2012, the Natura Campus Project Call was launched with the aim of receiving proposals for collaborative projects in science, technology, and innovation. The Call involved different areas of research of interest that were organized into two notices: Amazon Notice and Science, Technology, and Innovation Notice.
For the dissemination of the notices and the evaluation process, we adopted a very distinctive direct interaction strategy. We visited 29 institutions, with the participation of approximately 1000 people in person. In the end, proposals were received from 94 different institutions.
After being evaluated by managers and researchers from Natura's innovation area, analyzing strategic alignment and technical merit, the finalist proposals were selected for an immersion stage at Natura and direct collaboration with the company's researchers. In partnership with Endeavor, this created interaction space was designed to allow the synergies in research both inside and outside the company to be highlighted, and the final presentation to the evaluation panel aimed to reflect high-impact innovation opportunities.
In total, there were 24 finalists, 12 for each notice. Six projects were selected from the Amazon Notice. For the Science, Technology, and Innovation notice, seven projects were selected. The total expected investment is approximately 6 million across the Natura Campus Project Call.
As a result of the interaction space in the coaching and immersion stage with finalists, which involved research institutions and companies, two projects proposed by ESPM and Forebrain Neurotechnology, respectively, were integrated after recognizing the synergy between them, highlighting good prospects for co-creation processes and the pursuit of multidisciplinarity in innovation projects.
The Call greatly contributed to the expansion of interaction in science and technology involving various themes such as Biomimicry, Well-being and Consciousness, Amazon Chains, Experience Design, Ingredients, Cosmetic Formulations, and Sensory Experience.

The Project Call enabled the creation of interaction spaces between the finalists and the expansion of the partner network involving research institutions and companies.
We reinforce our desire to continue expanding the ways of interaction to identify opportunities and promote a more collaborative culture for innovation in Brazil.
