The objective is to receive and evaluate scientific, technological, and innovation research projects that constitute opportunities for transformative innovation and form collaboration networks for execution in partnership with such entities.
The Natura Campus program is a relationship program with the scientific community aimed at fostering innovation through the formation of collaborative networks. The program conducts periodic calls for proposals for research, development, and innovation projects in Natura's areas of operation, enabling the planning of activities by Natura and its network of partners. “With Natura Campus, we intensify the strength of the relationship between Natura, universities, science institutions, and research support and funding bodies. The open innovation model adopted by us allows these partnerships to evolve into a connected network of science and innovation, which contributes to increasing the company's competitiveness in the market and to the technological and economic development of the country,” explains Luciana Hashiba, manager of management and innovation networks at Natura.
In 2012, the Natura Campus Project Call will have two announcements with different areas of research of interest:

On 08/15, the announcements were launched through an online broadcast allowing for interaction. Interested parties were able to check the launch, interact, and clarify doubts in real time. To submit a project, the researcher must access the Natura Campus Portal, available at www.naturacampus.com.br, click on the link corresponding to the Natura Campus Project Call 2012, and fill in all the fields of the application form.
As part of the Call process, Natura, in partnership with Endeavor, prepared an opportunity to foster the spirit of scientific entrepreneurship. During the project submission period, interested parties will participate in discussion forums and have access to content on entrepreneurship and innovation to apply this knowledge to their projects. In December, the finalists will participate in in-person workshops on the topic, coaching sessions, and preparation for the final evaluation stage of the call.
The application period runs from 08/15 to 10/22. The final stage will take place in December, and the selected projects will be announced in January/13.
Until 2011, Natura collaborated with 18 partner Science and Technology Institutions from nine Brazilian states and reached the mark of 32 completed collaborative projects and seven ongoing projects focused on basic or technological scientific research.
