Natura Campus Project Call

Natura Campus Project Call

AS ONE OF THE WAYS TO PROMOTE INTERACTION WITH THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY, THE NATURA CAMPUS PROGRAM CONDUCTS PERIODIC CALLS FOR THE RECEIPT OF RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSALS.

THE CALL FOR PROPOSALS WILL BE LAUNCHED ON 08/15/12. MOBILIZE YOUR NETWORK AND SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT!

The Project Call enables the planning of research activities by Natura and its partners, as well as facilitating the comparative analysis of proposals. This year, the Natura Campus Project Call will be launched in August, with an expected closing in October.

This is the time to reveal great opportunities through co-development and cooperation projects in different research areas: Classical and Advanced Sciences of Skin and Hair; Well-being and Relationships Sciences; Senses, Design and Experiences; and Sustainable Technologies.

In 2012, there will be two modalities in the Natura Campus Project Call: Science, Technology and Innovation and Amazon Program.

NATURA CAMPUS PROJECT CALL - SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

The objective of this call is to support transformative innovation projects that enable the formation and strengthening of a global research network.

We seek partners from Science Institutions around the world, willing to collaborate and develop multidisciplinary, preferably networked, innovative, and high-impact projects. In this call, all the following research themes will be addressed:

CLASSICAL AND ADVANCED SCIENCES OF SKIN AND HAIR

This field focuses on the research of skin, scalp, and hair strands. Our goal is to integrate scientific knowledge of the biological and/or physicochemical mechanisms of these body parts into products, experiences, and services. We also seek partnerships in basic research, development of efficacy methodologies, and diagnostic and treatment tools.

SENSES, DESIGN AND EXPERIENCES

This multidisciplinary field aims to understand how we perceive the world through the senses and the mechanisms involved in the production of sensations, perceptions, and emotions. We seek sensory technologies that enhance the benefits of our products and develop well-being experiences that bring meaning and create emotional connections with consumers.

WELL-BEING AND RELATIONSHIPS

The goal is to understand and promote well-being with scientific support. We seek collaborative leadership among different areas of knowledge to conduct innovative scientific research aimed at developing products, services, and concepts across different dimensions of the individual and their relationships: emotional/psychological, behavioral/physiological, cultural/values, and social/systemic dimensions.

SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES

Our objective is to prospect, develop, and implement concepts and technologies to promote the sustainable use of natural resources, including research on ecological production systems, new materials and packaging, social technologies, and models for assessing socio-environmental impacts. We seek a focus on science and technology of ingredients for plant-based and/or biotechnological formulations, including extracts with cosmetic functionalities, fixed and essential oils, among others.

NATURA CAMPUS PROJECT CALL - AMAZON

Natura aims to be an instrument of scientific production, innovation, and the generation of new businesses, based on the sustainable use of products from the sociobiodiversity of the Amazon region, acting as a protagonist in the regional innovation system.

This is one of the objectives of the Amazon Program, which, along with the Natura Campus Project Call, invites the scientific community to leverage collaboration opportunities in science, technology, and innovation in the region. We want to engage Science Institutions from the Legal Amazon and different parts of Brazil and the world, connecting opportunities with a global vision and local action.

For participation in this call, it is necessary that the proposed projects be led by Science and Technology Institutions based in the Amazon region. Learn about the research fronts:

CULTURE AND SOCIETY

Our goal is to study human phenomena within communities and how they organize, traditional knowledge, the economy, culture, and the relationships that shape the socio-cultural and environmental reality.

CONSERVATION AND BIODIVERSITY

This front investigates the technological potential of biological systems, from a molecular scale to the ecosystem level, as well as the interpretation, understanding, modeling, valuation, and adaptive management of environmental phenomena.

FORESTS AND AGRICULTURE

We seek methods for studying and modeling the dynamics of agricultural and forest systems in pursuit of technical advancements in plant production, increased productivity, and improved management and conservation of natural resources.

PRODUCT AND PROCESS DESIGN

This field studies the dimensions of product, process, system, and production environment aimed at the conception, development, sizing, and improvement of physical, chemical, and biological systems and processes that aim to obtain goods and services of value to society.
