Natura was present at the VI FORTEC - National Forum of Innovation Managers and Technology Transfer, held in Belém/PA from April 17 to 19. The event annually brings together technology and innovation managers from science and technology institutions in Brazil, as well as representatives from other actors in the National Innovation System, such as government and companies. The central theme of the 2012 meeting was Green Economy – Sustainable Business, addressing the generation of new sustainable businesses and general clarifications for society.
In this context, Luciana Hashiba, who leads the Innovation Management and Networks area at Natura, presented the Natura Campus Program, its main actions for the year, and the initiative dedicated to the Amazon region. Additionally, with participation in the collaboration showcase of the event, Natura welcomed more than 20 representatives from Brazilian research institutions at its booth. Ways to interact and bring academic researchers closer to Natura's research fronts were discussed.
Prof. Rubén Sinisterra, President of FORTEC, greets all participants of the event.
Since 2001, Natura has adopted an open innovation strategy, driving the development of science, technology, and innovation through the connection between actors in the innovation system in Brazil and abroad. In this model, Natura already develops more than 60% of its projects in partnership, totaling 284 partners, including 53 Science Institutions and 04 Funding Agencies.
For 2012, the launch of the Natura Campus Project Call is scheduled, which will focus on the company's research themes. This is a unique opportunity for the scientific community in Brazil and abroad, as it reinforces Natura's search for new partnerships, strengthens the network, and enhances the quality of relationships. The initiative aims to attract transformative innovation projects, valuing scientific entrepreneurship in high-risk science projects that can integrate different areas of knowledge and enable the formation of networks.
The Project Call will have two approaches: one will specifically address themes established by the Amazon Program, and the second will be directed towards the four research fronts of the company: Classical and Advanced Sciences of Skin and Hair; Sustainable Technologies; Well-being Sciences and Relations; Senses, Design, and Experiences.
The Amazon Program is Natura's initiative that recognizes the importance of this region for Brazil and the world. The program aims to be a vector in creating sustainable businesses through science, innovation, and entrepreneurship, focusing on sociobiodiversity and valuing traditional knowledge and culture of the region.
We will soon publish more details about the Natura Campus Project Call 2012 and other collaboration opportunities. To keep up with the news from Natura Campus, subscribe to the Natura Campus newsletter on our portal and follow the program's profile on major social networks.
