The work presented by Joeni, scientific manager at Natura, focuses on formulations for hair care. One of the projects aims to develop sustainable bar hair products that contain palm oil and cocoa butter. The palm oil (dendê oil) used in the hair formulations comes from the Agroforestry System of Dendê, which supports regenerative agriculture. This system plays a key role in conserving water and biodiversity, improving soil quality and the lives of farmers, as well as contributing to the recovery of degraded areas in the Amazon.
Joeni also presented research on the development of a formulation for treating hair loss with patauá oil from Brazilian biodiversity. This project was designed to boost the self-esteem of people facing this condition, considering that medicinal treatments often cause scalp irritations. Thus, the research aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an anti-hair loss treatment containing a vegetable oil from Amazonian biodiversity.
