Deep Tech Summit 2024

Deep Tech Summit 2024

Natura sponsors another edition of the Deep Tech Summit, a relevant event for the deep tech ecosystem in Brazil, which took place on November 12 and 13 at the INOVA USP Complex in São Paulo. The event brought together entrepreneurs, startups, companies, investors, and researchers to drive innovation and technological development in Brazil. In total, there were 1,200 participants, 100 exhibiting deep tech startups, and 30 investment funds.

The event featured 12 hours of content and 25 panels. In this context, Natura contributed its vision and experience on innovation. Romulo Zamberlan, our Director of Advanced Research, gave a lecture on "How does Natura innovate from nature and deep techs?", exploring how advanced technologies can be leveraged to create disruptive and sustainable solutions. Additionally, Pamela Maiuolo, Senior Innovation Manager, participated in a panel alongside representatives from Embraer and Suzano, discussing the role of industry in advancing deep techs, highlighting the importance of collaboration between companies and startups to accelerate innovation.

We invited the startups registered for the event for a day of visits to our facilities and selected 22 of them with synergistic research lines with Natura to participate in a matchmaking with our R&D specialists. It was a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss trends, and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

The relevance of this event for the advancement of deep techs in Brazil was highlighted by the signing of the Letter of Intent. The document, signed by the institutions Finep, BNDES, ABDE, CGEE, Sebrae, and CNI, reinforces the need to create strategic objectives to support deep techs, aligned with the challenges of the missions of the New Industry Brazil (NIB). We are honored to have been part of such a significant event for the Innovation Ecosystem, which reinforces our commitment to promoting science-based innovation and market development.
