Natura is pleased to announce the winners of the Natura Campus Awards presented at the WC13 congress, which celebrated science and innovation in the development of alternative methods to the use of animals in research. We recognize the talent and dedication of Brazilian researchers who are paving a new path for the safety and efficacy assessment of cosmetic ingredients and products.
It is with great satisfaction that we present the winners:
Lorena de Oliveira Neves, researcher at INMETRO, for her innovative research on a cell culture free of animal-derived products;
Lucas Sobral, researcher at the Federal University of Goiás, who stood out with his work focused on toxicity predictions for chemical mixtures using artificial intelligence;
Julia Carnelos Machado Velho, researcher at the National Laboratory of Biosciences (LNBio), for her innovative research in vascularization strategies in tissue engineering for 3D tissue models.
The awarded researchers will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Natura's Innovation Center in Cajamar, scheduled for early 2026. There, they will have the chance to closely observe our research infrastructure and exchange experiences with the technical team leading the development of alternative methods in the company, exploring possibilities for scientific collaboration.
We congratulate the winners once again and reaffirm our commitment to research and the development of a future free from the use of animals.
The Natura Campus is also hosting an open challenge on this theme. If you have developed research related to alternative methods to animal testing, register on our website: https://innovationlatam.com/ch/naturawc13
Your proposal will be evaluated by Natura specialists, and if there is synergy with Natura's strategy, we can create a promising partnership!
